"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction." - Proverbs 1:7 "Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and depart from evil." - Proverbs 3:7 King Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived, wrote the book of Proverbs. This book is filled with God‑given wisdom, practical guidance for living a life that honors the Lord. Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Solomon recorded the truths that matter most, and among them he repeatedly highlights the fear of the Lord. This fear is not a terror of evil but a holy, reverent fear, a continual awareness that God is sovereign, that He sees us, and that He knows even the deepest thoughts of our hearts. When we acknowledge Him in our words and actions, we give Him the glory He alone is worthy of. Pride convinces us that we are wise in ourselves, but the fear of the Lord humbles us, teaching us to depend on His wisdom rather than our own understanding. It is the foundation of true knowledge and the posture of a heart that walks rightly before God. Let us therefore live with the fear of the Lord, honoring Him, acknowledging Him in all our ways, and giving Him glory in everything we do. Praise the Lord!
