"He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy." - Proverbs 28:13 " 'Come now, and let us reason together,' says the LORD, 'Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall he as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool....' " - Isaiah 1:18 Our human nature is inherently corrupted by sin. Every person is born under the power of this sin nature, and as a result, sin separates us from the true, living, and holy God. No sin can enter His presence, and the wages of sin is death. Yet our God is gracious and merciful. He has revealed His love through the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Christ paid the full price for all our sins when He died on the cross. Scripture assures us that if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). But one must receive the Lord Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, turning from sin in genuine repentance and trusting wholly in His finished work on the cross. Our sins, once as scarlet, are made white as snow. Though we still dwell in mortal, sinful bodies, we stand cleansed by His precious blood. Let us therefore pray for wisdom and strength to walk in holiness, living lives that honor our Lord. Praise the Lord!
