"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." - Psalm 51:10 "Jesus said to him [Peter], 'He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you.' For He knew who would betray Him; therefore He said. 'You are not all clean.' " - John 13:10,11 King David after he realized his sin of adultery, He pleaded with God with a repentant heart. Psalm 51 records his prayer as he poured out before God. We all are sinners because deep within our heart there is a desire to sin. Our heart is sinful and when we fall to the desire of our heart, we sin against the most Holy God. But God is merciful and forgiving when we turn to Him with a sincere and repentant heart. King David prayed for a clean heart, which only God can create in him and in us. Jesus Christ through His sacrificial death on the cross made it possible for us to have His righteousness clothed on us. When we stand before God, He sees the righteousness of Christ in us because all our sins were cast on Jesus on the cross. The requirement here is for us to trust in Jesus Christ, and Him only, and receive Him as the Lord of our life. When we receive Christ, we are made completely clean. This doesn't mean we will not sin as human beings, but all our sins have been forgiven because of our trust in Christ, and His work on the cross. Come to Jesus if you have not before, and receive Him, and He will create a clean heart in you. Praise the Lord!
