"And Abraham said, 'My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.' So the two of them went together." - Genesis 22:8 "The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, 'Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!" - John 1:29 God commanded Abraham to offer Isaac, his son, as a living sacrifice on the mount of Moriah. Abraham, in faith, obeyed God and did exactly as God asked until he lifted up the knife to slay his son. When earlier asked by his son, Abraham knew God will provide for Himself, hence the name of the very place is, The-Lord-Will-Provide. God kept His promise and did provide at the same place the greatest sacrifice incomprehensible. He sacrificed His Son, the Lamb of God, on the cross and provided salvation for mankind. All who look upon Jesus in faith will be saved. Praise the Lord!
