| "If You, Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand?" - Psalm 130:3
"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." - Romans 3:23
God is merciful and longsuffering. If He were to judge as per His holy standard, there would be no flesh left. Who could stand the holy judgment of God? But God is also merciful and He fulfilled on our behalf what we fell short of. Lord Jesus Christ bore our iniquity and the holy judgment of the Father was laid on Him as He died on the cross. We fell short of the glory of God but Christ provided us His righteousness so we can be in the holy presence of God.
