As one of the preachers have very well said, "Jesus Christ, the Holy Son of God, came into the world to become what He is not in-order to make us what we were not". Without the blood of Christ there is no remission of sin and we would have been lost forever. He became a curse to give us life. He offered us His righteousness, while bearing our sins on the cross.
