Former US President Jimmy Carter has slammed the US, Israel and the EU for dividing the Palestinian people, by imposing the economic and political boycott on Hamas, while supporting the new Palestinian Authority government under President Abbas. Jimmy Carter, a Nobel peace prize winner, made the comments at the Forum of Human Rights conference in Dublin, Ireland. He praised Hamas for being far more organized than its Fatah cousin, and stated that the elections which saw the terrorist organization brought to power were fair and free. Carter said the decision of the US and EU to impose a boycott on Hamas - for its refusal to recognize Israel's right to exist, renounce terror and abide by previous accords made by the PLO - was "criminal". Regarding the recent coup in Gaza, which resulted in the deaths of over 100 Palestinians, some of which were thrown off buildings while handcuffed and others executed in the street by Hamas leaders in front of their children, Carter said that Hamas won due to their "superior skills and discipline". Quote: "Far from encouraging Hamas' move into parliamentary politics, Carter said the U.S. and Israel, with European Union acquiescence, sought to subvert the outcome by shunning Hamas and helping Abbas to keep the reins of political and military power. "That action was criminal," he said in a news conference after his speech. "The United States and Israel decided to punish all the people in Palestine and did everything they could to deter a compromise between Hamas and Fatah," he said. Carter said the U.S. and others supplied the Fatah-controlled security forces in Gaza with vastly superior weaponry in hopes they would "conquer Hamas in Gaza" – but Hamas routed Fatah in the fighting last week because of its "superior skills and discipline." I don't think I need to make any comments about Carter's words here, his own mouth condemns him. As the Scriptures state, woe to them who call evil good, and good evil. Carter has justified cold-blooded murder, and condemns those who seek to uphold law and order. And sadly this is the state of our "Human Rights" organizations today. Isaiah 10:1-3 Source The Star |
