"Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." - Matthew 5:10 "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." - Romans 8:18 There is a growing hostility toward Christians in many parts of our world today. Our age is deeply divided when it comes to religion and truth. In many places, truth is pushed aside while ideology, tradition, and human opinion take center stage. Because of this, many believers suffer for simply following the Lord Jesus Christ. Yet none of this is unexpected. Our Lord foretold that these things would come. In the Beatitudes, He declared a blessing on those who suffer for righteousness’ sake. The apostles experienced this firsthand, Paul endured beatings, imprisonments, and countless trials, yet he considered all his sufferings unworthy to be compared with the glory that awaits all who believe in Christ. So when we face rejection, ridicule, or hardship for righteousness’ sake, let us remember the words of our Lord. He suffered for us, He endured the cross for us, and through His sacrifice He has opened the gates of heaven to all who believe in Him. Our present trials are temporary, but the glory He has prepared for us is eternal. Praise the Lord!
