| "He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me." - Matthew 10:37, 38
"So when they had eaten breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, 'Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these?' " - John 21:15
Unlike anyone who has ever lived, our Lord Jesus Christ made it very clear that He is the only way to the Father. And those who come to Him must come by faith and believe on Him. And once we have believed on Him, we follow Him faithfully. But following Christ and loving Him is not easy, because there is a price to pay. When we love and follow Christ, the world will hate us, even our own family members. But true believers acknowledge this cost and love the Lord as they grow in their walk with the Lord. Simon Peter, the great apostle, denied Jesus our Lord, but was restored when our Lord met the disciples at the sea of Galilee. The question our Lord asked Peter was whether he loved Him more than the things He cared for. Of course, we know according to tradition that Peter gave His life for the Lord. Let us examine our commitment and love for our Lord. Let us love Him and serve Him, for He alone is worthy.
Praise the Lord!
