"Jesus said to him, "If you want to be perfect, go sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come follow Me." - Matthew 19:21

"Paul, a bondservant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect and the acknowledgement of the truth which accords with godliness" - Titus 1:1

The rich man who came to Jesus had everything (that's why he is called the rich man), and he was a man who kept the law, and yet he lacked something greater. He lacked Jesus Christ. We do not know if this man in his later life came to faith in Jesus, but if did not, then he would have died in his sins. On the contrary, we can see how apostle Paul introduced himself in the epistles he wrote. Apostle Paul identified himself to be the bondservant of God and our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Apostle Paul had nothing in this world and he suffered for the sake of Christ until his death. Yet he had everything because he had Christ. Do we have a testimony for Christ as apostle Paul did? Our riches and our self righteousness is deceiving but only believing Christ and following Him is the true solution to eternal life.
Praise the Lord!
