Israel Anti-Semitism 31/3/05 |
The Prime Minister of Malaysia, well noted for Anti-Semitic remarks in the
past (stating that "Jews
rule the world by proxy"), has called for an international
campaign against Israel to enforce a peace settlement in
Israel/Palestine.
Quote: "He said the main obstacles to the peace process are Israel's settlements and construction of the separation barrier on occupied land. The two issues signal to the Palestinians that "the current Israeli government has no intention to fulfil the vision of two states or to live within recognized and secure borders," Erekat said. Again, we have the issue of "land" at the very heart of this struggle. One of the Antichrist's chief policies will be to "divide the land (Israel) for (his own) gain", Daniel 11:39. |

Knowledge increasing Chip reads man's mind 31/3/05 |
Doctors in the United States have implanted a man, who is completely
paralysed, with a revolutionary new
chip, which is able to read his thoughts.
Quote: "The pioneering surgery at New England Sinai Hospital, Massachusetts, last summer means he can now control everyday objects by thought alone. The brain chip reads his mind and sends the thoughts to a computer to decipher. Source BBC |

Weather Things can only get worse 31/3/05 |
A new
report just out, written by 1360 experts from ninety five nations
suggests that mankind is causing irreparable damage to the earth's
ecosystems.
Quote: "Humans are damaging the planet at an unprecedented rate and raising risks of abrupt collapses in nature that could spur disease, deforestation or "dead zones" in the seas, an international report said on Wednesday. "At the heart of this assessment is a stark warning," said the 45-member board of the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment. "Human activity is putting such strain on the natural functions of Earth that the ability of the planet's ecosystems to sustain future generations can no longer be taken for granted," it said. Israel Terror groups re-arm 30/3/05 |
The terror group, Hamas,
reportedly continues to make use of the "tahdiah" (temporary calm)
to re-arm itself should the peace process falter.
Quote: "In the last few days, 600 rifles and many ammunition clips have been smuggled into Gaza from Egypt In other news, according to David Dolan, Jerusalem based author and journalist, Mahmoud Abbas has reiterated his promise to "draft Hamas, Islamic Jihad and Al Aksa Martyrs Brigades members into his own PA security forces. In other words, the terrorist’s illegal weapons would merely be exchanged for PA-issued ones, and their annihilationist aims regarding Israel would become part of the Palestinian mainstream". Earthquakes Aceh 28/3/05 |
Yet another quake
struck Indonesia today, just off the tiny island of Sumatra. Measuring
8.2 on the Richter Scale, it comes exactly 10 days after a magnitude 6.1
quake struck the very same region.
Quote: "The U.S. Geological Survey said the temblor, which occurred at 11:09 p.m. local time (11:09 a.m. EST), measured a magnitude of 8.2. It was described by one of the agency's geologists as an aftershock of the devastating Dec. 26 quake. Tsunami warnings were issued in Thailand, Japan and Sri Lanka. Authorities said it could take several hours to know whether the quake had generated a devastating tsunami. The quake lasted for about two minutes — far longer than most of the daily aftershocks that have rocked Aceh since Dec. 26. Source Yahoo |

Temple Mount Restrictions break law 27/3/05 |
With tensions at an all-time high in Israel over the Gaza pull-out, and a
clamp down by the government over access to the temple mount, a recent
article by the Temple Institute claims that the Israeli government are
actually breaking
their own laws regarding the holy site.
Quote: "Despite the Law for the Protection of the Holy Places, 1967, and its clauses assuring freedom of access to and worship within each religion's holy sites, despite their reconfirmation in the Basic Law: Jerusalem, 1980, and despite the recognition of those rights, in principle, by Israel's High Court of Justice, in practice the Israeli police consistently refuse to permit any form of Jewish prayer in the confines of the Temple Mount compound. In addition, any outward appearance of religiosity such as Tallit (Prayer Shawl) fringes hanging out, a Prayer Book or other religious tome or any ritual object such as Tefillin (Phylacteries), Lulav (palm branch) or the like are banned. In essence, a Jew may enter his Most Sacred Site but may not do so in a way that would be Jewish. Source Temple Institute |

Mark of the beast Pandas get "the mark" 25/3/05 |
In an effort to ensure the survival of this highly endangered species, China
has decided to chip
Giant Pandas.
Quote: "Information about pedigree, age and other basic data will be permanently incorporated into the giant pandas by ways of molecular labelling or hypodermic implantation of sensing chips," Xinhua quoted a State Forestry Administration official as saying. One wonders how long it will be before implanting humans will be seen as essential for their survival. Revelation 13:16 Source CNN |

Morals Scottish Church backs gay clergy 23/3/05 |
The Scottish Episcopal church today backed
the ordination of gay priests, saying that a persons sexual orientation
was "not a bar" to them becoming a priest.
Quote: "...the Scottish bishops said: "We are conscious that as a church we are much indebted in our life both to a significant presence of persons of homosexual orientation, and also those whose theology and stance would be critical of attitudes to sexuality other than abstinence outside marriage. "We rejoice in both." How exactly the Scottish Episcopal Church can "rejoice" in what amounts to two diametrically opposed views is startling. And exactly how is the Scottish Episcopal Church indebted to those of a lifestyle the Scriptures call an "abomination" (Lev 18:22)? Or perhaps the Scottish Church would rather sit on the fence, than "judge righteous judgement", John 7:24. Source BBC |

EU Constitution French "fear" no-vote 22/3/05 |
The French government have "warned"
the French public that a no-vote for the new EU Constitution would result in
"humiliation" for the nation.
Quote: "Mr de Villepin warned that if the No camp won the referendum, France would be "in a corner, reduced to a minor role... It will be a humiliated France". A No vote would result in globalisation "without any constraints," he said, and Europe would then become "the big market that the Anglo-Saxons dream about, a Europe under US influence, a Europe under Chinese influence". So much for the idea of government being by the "will of the people", with governments using the "fear" of what a no-vote would mean to try and get the public to vote yes for this EU constitution. Add in a little bit of anti-American sentiment, and you have a perfect platform on which to launch your referendum. Source BBC |

Knowledge shall
increase Designer babies 21/3/05 |
"Designer babies" have come a step closer in the UK, with MP's now
deciding that parents undertaking IVF treatment can legally request to choose
the sex of their children. This of course begs the question, what
happens to all those embryos that aren't the "preferred" sex.
Sadly the news article does not pick up on this, only stating parents should
have a "right" to decide the make-up of their families rather than
the state.
Quote: "The report - Human Reproductive Technologies - due out on Thursday, is reported to say that "parents rather than the state must be assumed to be the right decision-makers for their families". Proverbs 6:16 Source Yahoo |

Earthquake Japan 20/3/05 |
Yet another major quake
struck Japan today, killing one and wounding four hundred.
Quote: "The magnitude-7.0 temblor, which hit west of Kyushu Island at 10:53 a.m., was centred at an unusually shallow depth of 5.5 miles below the ocean floor, the Japanese Meteorological Agency said. At least one aftershock with a magnitude of 4.2 was recorded. I said a few days ago there was a major quake every week somewhere in the world. Maybe that figure should be revised to one every two days!? Source Yahoo |

Mid-East Iraq 19/3/05 |
Two years ago to the day, the Iraq war began. There have been numerous
protests around the world about this war ever having been started, but
President Bush stated today that ousting
Saddam is "inspiring democratic reformers from Beirut to
Tehran". There is no doubt the past few years have accelerated change
in the Middle East, with Syria now backing out of Lebanon after a decade of
military control, Libya agreeing to forsake "weapons of mass
destruction". But there are still stalwarts like Iran, who are
determined to manufacture nuclear technology, whether its intended use is
for peaceful means or not.
Having a look at Daniel 11, we can see that during the brief reign of Antichrist, the political map changes drastically. After the 7 year "peace" covenant (signed by the Antichrist with many nations - Daniel 9:27), the covenant is broken (by the Antichrist himself - Daniel 11:30) in some sort of upset with Chittim (Cyprus?). As a result, the Antichrist brings his European army into the Middle East, taking control of several nations... Dan 11:41-44 The stage is being set. The middle east will be the centre stage for the last great battle of Armageddon. The Lord's return is near. Source Yahoo |

Earthquakes Aceh 18/3/05 |
Aceh was again rocked by a massive earthquake
today, measuring 6.1 on the Richter Scale. There were no reports of damage
or casualties, but many residents are panic stricken every time, for fear of
another killer tidal wave. The tiny island of Sumatra has experienced many
tremors since the earthquake on December 26th last year. There seems to be
at least a major earthquake happening every week somewhere in the world,
with only 9 days passing since the quake in South Africa.
Earthquakes were one of the signs the Lord Jesus spoke of would occur in the lead up to the last days before the 7 year tribulation. Mark 13:8 Source Jerusalem Post |

Israel Dividing the land 17/3/05 |
As the date looms for the forced eviction of thousands of settlers from Gaza, tensions are beginning to rise, both among residents and in security. The BBC reports that Jewish "extremists" are planning ways to take over the temple mount should the Israeli government go ahead with the evacuation. Many residents at Gaza are angry with the Israeli government over their decision to force residents to leave their homes, and security is being heightened in an effort to hinder any major protests, with Gaza being declared a controlled military zone in order to stop protestors gathering there in great numbers. | |
Morals Gay Pride 15/3/05 |
World Pride are planning to hold
the 2005 Gay Pride rally in Jerusalem, although Evangelical and Jewish
groups are planning to join forces to try and stop the march. Recent rallies
have converged both in Jerusalem, and in Rome in past years, in an effort to
try and undermine the teachings of Scripture that homosexuality is
sin.
Quote: "The struggle for acceptance and pride is particularly pointed in Jerusalem, a city that is home to three of the world’s great religions. The greatest traditions of Islam, Christianity and Judaism affirm the dignity of all human beings and our creation in the divine image. Yet these same faiths have often been sources of hostility and intolerance for LGBT (Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered) people. WorldPride 2005 will bring thousands of us to Jerusalem to confront preconception with reality, prejudice with an opportunity for understanding, in a way that will capture the attention of the world. Together we will proclaim that in this ancient religious city – and in this region – we too belong. Already gay relationships are being taught to our children in school, gay adoption is legal, and Tony Blair has given gay partners equal rights with traditional marriages in all but name. Activists admit that the prime aim of getting legal acceptance of gay marriage is to undermine religion, particularly Christianity, which they believe has "poisoned" our culture. Israel Dividing the land 14/3/05 |
The Israeli government today unveiled the planned
route of the West Bank barrier, which aims, as Sharon and many past
Prime Ministers have stated, to retain Jerusalem as the undivided capital of Israel.
Of course many "pro-peace" groups are now upping the anti, saying
that this barrier automatically "demolishes the basis of peace".
Forget Eged busses being blown apart like tin cans, the Israeli government
once again is to blame for any failure of a peace agreement, by their
relentless pursuit of protecting their own (and Arab) people.
If there is peace, it certainly won't be because of the BBC, who apologised this week to Israel over their illegal interview of the nuclear spy, Vanunu. According to the Jerusalem Post, an apology appeared on the BBC website for a few hours, before being removed with no explanation given. Perhaps an apology would not have done the BBC's well-established reputation for anti-Israeli bias any good. Source BBC |

Quakes and Weather 9/3/05 |
A magnitude 5
quake struck South Africa today. A massive
cyclone is also bearing down on North Eastern Australia, which was
originally estimated to be the biggest storm Australia had seen in decades,
but has been "downgraded" from a category 5 storm to a category 3
storm.

Sanhedrin Disengagement plan 8/3/05 |
The Sanhedrin have issued a public
statement to Israeli's about the Israeli Government's controversial Gaza
& West Bank disengagement plan.
In the document, the Sanhedrin state that such a plan is contrary to God's law as laid out in the Torah (Old Testament). They also say the government of Israel have no legal right to disengage from any part of Israel, as it is God's land, and not theirs to give or take (Lev 25:23 "The land shall not be sold for ever: for the land is mine; for ye are strangers and sojourners with me"), and anyone who aids the "uprooting" in any way will also be transgressing the law. Furthermore, the Sanhedrin claim the right to inhabit all the land declared by God to be Abraham's, including even most of Jordan and part of Syria. As this is a public statement, I have decided to include it on this website, instead of linking to it (I received it as an email). While they are right in what they say, I feel their hearts are not. Israel are back in the land in unbelief (not recognising Yeshua - Jesus, as their Messiah). I personally doubt Israel will fully possess all the land that was given to Abraham until the Lord returns. There was a condition on the land of Israel, that God would increase her borders to that which He had promised, only if they were obeying His commandments and seeking Him. Since Israel has a nation is not doing this, it is hard to see how they will ever possess the whole land, until they "look on Him whom they have pierced" (Zec 12:10). Sanhedrin King for Israel 6/3/05 |
This is a bit late, as I missed the article when it came out.
Back in January, the newly established Jewish Sanhedrin have selected an ideal candidate to be the future King of Israel. Rabbi Yosef Dayan claims to have documented proof that he is a direct descendant of King David. Quote: "Dayan has the best lineage to King David," several members of the Sanhedrin told The Jerusalem Post. They say he has two documented ancient sources which draw a direct line between him and the males in his family to King David some 3,000 years ago. But there are two major obstacles to any coronation of a future King for Israel. The fact that the current government is democratic, and there is currently no Jewish Temple on the Mount. Quote: "The only question now is how to establish the Jewish monarchy in spite of the presiding democratic government. "There are two possibilities," Dayan explained. "The first is that the nation or a majority from within will want the monarchy and will uproot the presiding democratic government." The second, more realistic option, he said, is "the one cited by Maimonides – and that is that no one will know how it will be until it happens." But the Bible says that any future King will be an impostor, until Christ returns as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Ezekiel 21:25 Source Jerusalem Post |

Peace Treaty EU Support 5/03/05 |
Javier Solana, Foreign Secretary of the EU and Secretary General of the WEU,
has pledged his support
for the Palestinians in this renewed peace plan for the the Middle East.
Furthermore, the EU has promised $300 million to try and get the Palestinian
economy built up.
Quote: "The European Union is going to be behind the Palestinian people for the realisation of their dream," Mr Solana said. "The dream is clear: to have one state and a state that can live together in peace with the neighbouring state of Israel." Much comments have been made about Condeleeza Rice's remarks that the Palestinian State should be "contiguous", i.e. the West Bank and Gaza Strip should be joined up, which would mean "dividing the land", which will be part of the Antichrist's policy. Dan 11:39, In other news, Jordan is sending an envoy to Israel to "discuss final status issues" regarding the peace process. Quote: "Mr Mulki says he is heading to Israel to try to improve relations between the two peace partners. Borders, refugees, Jerusalem and water are expected to be on the agenda during the series of meetings. Once again we have the status of Jerusalem top of the agenda, a city which has never been an Arab capital, and which is never mentioned once in the Koran. Yet Jerusalem has been the capital of Israel for over 3000 years, and is mentioned over 800 times in the Bible. |

Palestinian State London Meeting 1/3/05 |
Prime Minister Tony Blair chaired a meeting
in London with President Abbas, Kofi Annan, and politicians from across
Europe and the Middle East. Israel did not attend, as they did not wish the
gathering to become another Israel bashing session, but wanted rather to see
genuine progress made, and will be involved in drawing up the final
conclusion from this meeting.
Here is a very interesting statement made by Tony Blair in his opening remarks to those gathered in London... Quote: "There's probably no more pressing political challenge than to move this process forward because it has a relevance on the streets of Britain, on the streets of European countries as well as in the Middle East itself. It is probably the cause most used or abused by those who try to rally support for extremism and when we therefore make progress on this issue we are not merely enhancing the prospects for the people of Palestine, the people of Israel, we are also enhancing security of every one of the countries represented round this table today and the significance of that can be seen very clearly in the attempts by terrorist groups still to disrupt the process and progress that can be made. The Bible states Israel will be at the very centre of world politics in the last days, and more specifically Jerusalem. The Jews will never give up Jerusalem, and it seems the Arabs will not stop until they have it as their capital. The Pope recently called for Jerusalem to be made an international city, and this is what the battle of Armageddon will be fought over. Zechariah 12:2-3 Source 10 Downing Street |
